Morning 6 am
In a room filled with sound
The alarm buzzes loudly. BEEP... BEEP...
After snoozing the alarm for five more minutes, I finally give in. With a groggy sigh, I turn it off, roll out of bed, and begin making it lazily.
As I fix the sheets, I'm already on a call with my shka darling-she's not just my best friend; she's my soul sister, my energy, my comfort zone.
We talk... about everything and nothing. One hour, maybe more, and I'm still lost in our endless conversation. Eventually, I hang up and drag myself into the shower.
After a 2.5-hour-long prep routine-yes, seriously that long-I'm finally done. Today isn't just any day. It's the day. A special day. A celebration. It's the annual Feast at my college.
I slip into a dark green saree with a perfectly draped deep neck blouse. I go for a soft glam look-subtle makeup, just enough to make my features pop.
I rarely leave my hair open. But today... I want to feel different. Bold. So I let them fall freely, the wind teasing a few strands.
One final check in the mirror. Satisfied. Confident.
I step out of my room, expecting a little chaos-but silence. No one's around. Strange. In a house this big, you'd expect at least one person around. But nope. They're all in their own worlds, their own rooms.
Sometimes, I feel like I live with strangers. Blood doesn't always mean bond.
And move towards the kitchen. I make myself a quick breakfast-nothing fancy, just something to get by.
Just as I step into my room again, my phone buzzes.
RING... RING...
But I don't need to check. I know exactly who it is. I smile, pick it up, and answer. She didn't even say hello properly.
Just jumped right in.
"Konse colour ki saree pehni hai? Tere paas matching jewellery hai na? hairstyle kya kiya hai? , don't tell me you've done some boring side bun or braid !!, Tu bol kyu nahi rahi ? She said all in just one go.
I stay silent for just two seconds was my fatal mistake
" Don't say ki tune woh boring plain saree pehni hai. I swear, I'll kill you", she warns me. I can't hold back anymore and I burst out laughing . Only she can turn a saree check into an interrogation.
"Aye drama queen, relax! Tu bolne degi tho bolungi na! " I replied in sarcastic tone.
"Aur meri maa maine saree pehni hai aur colour hmm.. tu khud hi dekh lena..and jwellery matched, hair open, bold lipstick, bas ya aur kuch bhi add karna hai? " I asked her
"Nahi, perfect" she said. "Happy ? , madam" I asked her with grinning.
"Happy, na so so much happy, darling " she replied making me giggle on her words.
"Ok , bye I'll be there soon " saying I hung up the call .
I sat down on bed and start having my breakfast while scrolling through the insta reels like I have all the time of world. Lost in those endless videos, I didn't realise how much time had flown by.
I was zoned out that I literally forget about the function would start any minute. Without thinking anything, I grabbed my bag and dashed out of the house.
I was too lost in my own world that I didn't even realize, when I crashed into someone's car. It was a pretty sexy car too- sleek, shiny, definitely expensive.
I froze, hearing the loud screech echoing through the narrow market road.
"Shit! The Aura.." I muttered, panic creeping in.What the hell am I thinking in this situation?!"
I was already running late, so I instinctively decided to bolt. Maybe I could slip away before anyone notice, After all, was it really my fault?
" Who parks a car like this in the middle of a crowded market road anyway?" I tried to reason with myself as I slowly backed away.
" Meri kismat hi kharab hai. Ab ye bhi dekhna tha".But just as I was about to turn and leave a deep, cold voice sliced through the noise.
"What the fuck is this?
Andddd
